One of the best kept secrets about
Southern California is really no secret at all. Palm Springs is only
about 1 hour and 45 minutes from Los Angeles, making it the perfect weekend getaway. It also just happens to be the perfect mid-point of our many trips to and from Phoenix
to visit family and friends. Now, Palm Springs has a reputation for a
lot of things, but “exciting” and “full of things to do” is rarely one
of them! We beg to differ. After spending more and more time here
recently, your "Set of Drifters" have
realized that there's a heck of a lot more to do in this former
"movie colony" town that you may remember...
Sure, you can take in a spa day, or go golfing on one of the many top-notch courses in the region. Many are happy to just spend all day poolside, soaking in the luscious rays of the sun. We have found, however, that Palm Springs has a few tricks hidden up its short pique polo sleeves. Here, immense natural beauty of the Coachella Valley and San Jacinto Mountains mixes effortlessly with vintage architecture and design from the 1940s - 60s that will have any hipster's head-a-spinning, and in much the same fashion it attracted luminaries from Hollywood's "Golden Age" back in the day!
