Medusa Bar (at the Ulysse Resort & Thalasso)

After a long day of being lazy, indulging in the sea and sun of the beach, there is nothing better than relaxing with a beer or two in a oddly-themed hotel lounge where you can be entertained not only by the live music, but also the other hotel guests!

"Medusa Bar" at the Radisson Blu Ulysse Resort & Thalasso (see "digs") is
one of the five watering holes at the "Odyssey"-themed resort.  It features live music every night in an environment that is at times "ultra-modern" sophistication, and perhaps "trying too hard" at others.  In a nutshell, it's a cross between a European disco and a hotel bar.  (Take that any way you like.)

The live act was talented even if their music was not very cutting edge.  That being said, we were not expecting much as we were in a hotel with hundreds of people of all ages, and from all over the planet.  We loved the clever "jellyfish" lighting concept and the fact that it wasn't too crowded.  The staff was also quite friendly; this was no stuck up nightclub you might witness in New York or London.  Overall, we were very impressed by this place and the fact that it was actually part of the hotel resort.  If we were basing our grading solely on effort, we'd give 'em five Groveys!
